Say yes to Global Wellness Day!
But first let us remind you what wellness is all about. Based on the World’s Health Organization, wellness is state of complete physical, mental and social well-being; and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. It’s about achieving a healthier fulfilling life, living well physically and spiritually, becoming conscious of the whole self, and looking better as well.
The initiative of a social movement to transform one day into a lifelong wellness day was born in Turkey and was first celebrated on 2012. The second Saturday of June has been established and accepted as the Global Wellness Day worldwide. Last year it was celebrated in 100 different countries at 4,000 different locations. This year it’s expected to be celebrated on more than 100 countries and over 5,000 locations on June 9, 2018.
Some of wellness concepts such as holism, a positive and proactive attitude, balance and self-responsibility are important concepts that should be taken into consideration. The main goals of the day are:

– Recognize life’s value
– To pause and reflect
– To be free from stress and bad habits
– To make peace with ourselves
– To raise awareness and increase motivation
And a manifesto has been established as the starting point:
– Walk for an hour
– Drink more water
– Don’t use plastic bottles
– Eat healthy food
– Do a good deed
– Have a family dinner with your loved ones: psychological positive effect
– Sleep at 10:00pm
Become healthier, happier and stronger! Make the world a better place once day at a time; change someone else’s life! Remember “One day can change your life”.
